Our story

Why WillWolf exists.

An estate is rarely lost in a courtroom. More often it is simply never found: an insurance policy nobody knew about, a demat account nobody could name, or a land deed kept in a drawer cleared out after a loss.

Over ₹1.5 Lakh Crore lies unclaimed across Indian bank accounts, EPF funds, and insurance policies simply because families lacked a confidential roadmap.

Writing it all down solves that. But documenting everything you own, in one place, requires absolute trust in whoever holds the list. We built WillWolf the only way we were willing to ask for that trust: the vault is sealed on your browser, and we hold no master key.

Our Foundational Principle

Encrypt the contents, expose the structure

The single core engineering rule our entire digital estate vault is built upon, defining both how it works and its absolute security limits.

What We Can See
Service Metadata

Structure & Operational Metadata

That an account exists, that it holds a handful of asset categories, and that a Will has been generated. That is the structure, and the service cannot function without it.

  • Account existence & billing status
  • Sealed category counts (e.g., 3 Real Estate items)
  • Timestamp of last vault update
What We CANNOT See
Zero-Knowledge

Private Assets & Beneficiary Wishes

Which property, worth what, going to whom, with what message attached. All of it is encrypted on your device and reaches us as ciphertext we have no key for.

  • Property addresses, bank account & folio numbers
  • Beneficiary names, allocations & personal messages
  • Unencrypted Will PDF contents

Guarantees & Consequences

What follows from this principle

01
Zero Backdoors

There is no support override

No member of our team can open your vault, because there is no key to open it with. If we could unlock it for you, someone could compel us to unlock it for somebody else.

02
Key Persistence

Changing your password is safe

Your vault key is generated once in your browser and never replaced. A password change re-seals the same key, so resetting a password never touches what you recorded.

03
Browser Recovery

A reset link would be a back door

So there is not one. Recovery runs on a secret recovery phrase known only to you, verified in your browser. A wrong phrase never leaves your device.

How your data is handled

The parts we can answer plainly

Encryption covers what is in your vault. Everything else is a matter of policy, so here it is in one place.

Where it is stored
Cloud infrastructure in the India region.
Who else is involved
A licensed Aadhaar e-KYC provider for identity verification, a telecom provider to deliver one-time codes by SMS, and an email provider for codes and account notices. We do not sell your data.
Your rights under the DPDP Act
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or delete your account at any time. We respond within 30 days, and you can also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
What deletion means
A genuine hard delete. The database rows and the files on disk both go, and wills, assets and the people you named are removed with the account.

The full policies live in the app: Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Questions about either go to privacy@willwolf.in.

What we won't do

Honesty is the product, not the marketing

A vault is only worth what its weakest claim is worth. These are the ones we have committed to keeping.

  1. We will not invent social proof

No star ratings, no user counts, no testimonials and no press logos until they are real. If you see a number on this site, it came from the product.

  2. We will not claim more than the system does

The seal covers what you record in your vault. The documents and photographs you upload sit outside it, and we say so rather than letting "encrypted" imply everything.

  3. We will not pretend to be your lawyer

WillWolf is a self-service platform, not a law firm. It structures what you record into a will; it does not advise you on your circumstances.

  4. We will not hide the trade-off

True end-to-end encryption means a lost password and a lost recovery sentence together mean a lost vault. We put that on the home page, not in the small print.

See what it actually holds

Seven asset categories, the people you name, and a will generated from all of it. The records are sealed before they leave your device.
